Brilliant - flawless... The graphics, sound and general presentation are second to none.
World Class Leader Board (US Gold)
Quite simply the apex in golfing simulations. Tough, demanding, challenging and requiring far more skill and strategy than previous versions.
Strike (Mastertronic Added Dimension)
A pitiful bowling simulation, offering virtually no entertainment whatsoever.
The Detective (Argus Press)
A highly entertaining and beautifully polished piece of software... if it's an absorbing and long-lasting mystery you're after.
Mario Bros (Ocean)
Fun, but sadly not as playable as the original arcade.
Sport Of Kings (Mastertronic Added Dimension)
Incredibly easy to get into, and enjoyable from the off... although I'd go so far as to say it's useless as a single player game.
Tag-Team Wrestling (US Gold)
A fine example of the beat-'em-up genre... at its very worst.
Karate Champ (Americana)
A mediocre conversion of a dated and uninspiring arcade game.
Dogfight 2187 (Starlight)
In space no-one can hear you scream, which is just as well if you're playing Dogfight 2187.
I, Ball (Firebird)
An unusual and competent blend of shoot-'em-up and racing action.
Army Moves (Imagine)
A competent blend of game styles which can be very frustrating but is nonetheless playable.
An ageing but playable shoot-'em-up, well suited to the budget range.
Super Sunday (Nexus)
A superlative product - the best football simulation on the market.
GFL Championship Football (Activision)
A fine strategic game and... without a doubt the most graphically impressive of all the grid iron games.
Touchdown Football (Ariolasoft)
A nice idea let down by its awful looks and playability.
On-Field Football (Activision)
A boring simulation which offers little playability, depth or action.
A brilliant two-player game, but only a novice would find the computer opponent challenging.
A nice idea, but it looks hopeless and antiquated beside the likes of Super Sunday.
A very enjoyable game. Adams and Infocom obviously share a certain vein of highly infectious humour.
The Big Sleaze (Piranha)
It's a good game, but there aren't enough synonyms for many of the commands making progress frustrating and unfair.
Shadows Of Mordor (Melbourne House)
Graphics are disappointing and, really the only good news is that the game didn't crash while I was playing it and that the puzzles are okay.
Battle Cruiser (SSI)
Excellent for what it is, but very much a matter of taste.
Enduro Racer (Activision)
The most disappointing and unrepresentative arcade conversion available.
The Sydney Affair (Infogrames)
Nothing more than an average and limited murder mystery.
The definitive man-to-man combat game. It excels mainly in the two player option.
This sort of basic shoot-'em-up would have probably gone down very well three or four years ago, but not now.
An innovative and highly appealing logic game.
Another mediocre release from Starlight, which should have been a lot more than just another 3D shoot-'em-up.
Rogue Trooper (Piranha)
A competent tie-in which is fun to play, but sadly lacks any long-lasting challenge.
An archaic concept and a poor game structure.
Spy Vs. Spy 3: Arctic Antics (Databyte)
A good game in its own right, but no advance on the previous two releases.
A poor 3D arcade adventure, heavily tarnished by its slow speed and illogical and infrequent problems.
Killed Until Dead (US Gold)
A superbly executed binary who'lldoit, let down slightly by a lack of variety and depth.
Frost Byte (Mikro-Gen)
An enjoyable and entertaining romp for any arcade adventurer.
The Great Escape (Ocean)
One of the best arcade adventures available - an essential purchase for fans of the genre.
The Curse Of Sherwood (Mastertronic)
Initial exploring fun and reward... but nothing new or outstanding on offer.
An ineffective game, spoiled by cosmetic imperfections and limited gameplay.
Samurai Trilogy (Gremlin)
Badly animated and unrealistic sprites fight across a series of unprofessional backdrops. In all, a very poor fighting game which offers little action and variety.
