A very strange game, but a brilliant one at that.
Addictive, challenging and above all fun! More expensive than previous Minter releases but just as worthy.
Poor scrolling, landscape and sprites... Twice the going rate for a budget game and not even as good as most.
Frank Bruno's Boxing (Elite)
Too little too late... Although the overall presentation is excellent, loading the boxers from cassette is a real pain.
Not one of the better arcade adventures available but there's a lot worse.
Codename Mat II (Domark)
Slow '3D' and unforgivable colour clash... A vast galaxy to explore but only a few Myons to shoot.
Topper The Copper (English)
A reasonable platform adventure. Colourful landscapes with big, bright, bold baddies.
Spy's Demise/The Spy Strikes Back (Electric Dreams)
Little variation. This blast from the past should have stayed there.
A very easy simulator to fly. Despite reviewing disagreement, generally considered very impressive.
One of this year's better blasts. Plenty of zapping to keep itchy trigger fingers happy.
Rupert And The Ice Palace (Quicksilva)
Graphics and sound maketh not a game. All the screens are basically the same.
Crazy Comets (Martech)
Although Crazy Comets is just a plain old shoot-'em-up, I'm glad to see its type reappear again. Well done, Martech.
It's sad to see Ultimate turn out a program like this.
Educational Software Special
Shadow Fire Tuner (Beyond)
Very useful... The program isn't that easy to use initially, since some of the new icons are not easily recognisable. It takes some considerable time to construct a new game.
Funky Bop Corner Electrosound (Orpheus)
An incredible music utility, reasonably easy to use and most professional in its sound capabilities.
Despite tough and imaginative puzzles there are only five screens.
The Magician's Ball (Global)
A new game from a new company that is well worth adding to your collection... The conversion has been done very well.
The Never-Ending Story (Ocean)
A very attractive program... There's a considerable atmosphere to the game, which is supported (and not detracted from) by the graphics.
Ulysses (US Gold)
This is one of those games that we could do without... Too much time here has been spent on crummy graphics and too little on game design.
Terrormolinos (Melbourne House)
Sit back and load up a holiday in your bedroom - I reckon you'll need one when you've finished it!
The Secret Diary Of Adrian Mole (Mosaic/Level 9)
Hilarious, witty, and beautifully written, and most important of all - it's full of surprises, even if you know the books backwards.
Decision In The Desert (Microprose)
A superior implementation to the first title in the series.
Battle For Midway (PSS)
Good use of strategic display and silhouettes but poor in arcade sections.
Who Dares Wins II (Alligata)
One of the best arcade shoot-'em-downs yet. Excellent and varied backdrops with heaps of sprites.
Colossus Chess 4.0 (CDS)
If you want a chess program then look no further than this one.
