Echelon (US Gold)
An innovative and profound simulation marred by its on-screen action.
A dull Gauntlet variant, which doesn't like up to its potential.
Some good ideas and execution are let down by unvarying gameplay.
The Three Stooges (Cinemaware/Mirrorsoft)
A disappointing translation of the comic trio, lacking in diversity and appeal.
An irritating but enjoyable shoot-'em-up.
Impossible Mission II (US Gold/Epyx)
Simply excellent... This is more superb a sequel than anyone could have hoped for.
Target Renegade (Imagine)
It's not just a simple beat-'em-up: a whole range of different characters with individual skills and personalities are combatted with unique strategies.
Vampire's Empire (Magic Bytes)
A poor attempt to combine arcade adventure and puzzle action.
Lee Enfield In The Tournament Of Death (Infogrames)
An incredibly badly presented and unplayable arcade adventure.
The idea behind Pandora is a pretty good one, with room for plenty of exploring and interaction between characters and objects.
Road Warrior (CRL)
A neatly presented, but simplistic and very tedious horizontally scrolling shoot-'em-up.
Bob Winner (Loriciels)
Bob certainly doesn't live up to his name.
Time And Magik (Level 9/Mandarin)
The Time And Magik trilogy is good. Not all the components are particularly impressive - as usual the disk access time for graphics is a little slow - but the complete package should make a worthy addition to your collection.
Sorcerer Lord (PSS)
Highly recommended for the game, if not the aesthetics.
Mask 3: Venom Strikes Back (Gremlin)
The best MASK game so far, and a pretty good game in its own right.
Alien Syndrome (The Edge)
An excellent version of the coin-op guaranteed to provide hours of enjoyment and frustration.
Microleague Wrestling (MicroProse)
Not a brilliant game, but it recreates the atmosphere of television wrestling well enough.
Wheelies (Micro Selection Plus)
A mediocre game which gives up its secrets rather too easily, and so loses out on long-term challenge.
A fine shoot-'em-up.
Train Robbers (Firebird)
You'd be crazy to miss out on this novel little game... Simple, addictive and very enjoyable.
Oh No! (Firebird)
An enjoyable, if ultimately limited, blast. Fast, colourful action from the start.
Another excellent release from Zeppelin. Beautifully animated sprites complement the subtle use of shading and colour throughout.
An interesting concept marred by excessive difficulty and lack of variety.
