It seems to be the policy of Video Systems to inundate its customers with instructions. Not a bad thing in the long run, or wouldn't be if the quality of the game matched the quality of the instructions! You do have a little bit of influence over the game inasmuch that you can choose order of play, bowlers and certain factors which influence the quality of play.

If you wanted, you could change both teams, but in the end, all the scores and fall of wickets are determined by the computer in a random fashion. There is no animation, unless you call the changing scores, and over count, animation. I wonder why the over count is repeated in brackets?

During play various comments are printed to the screen. Such things as "off the leg" or "got a thin edge" etc, and after nearly every over a weather report. I thought that now that I had got used to the vagaries of British weather but in this game it's possible for it to change after every over!

My love for cricket borders on fanaticism but I could not whip up any enthusiasm for this version.
