Smash TV (The Hit Squad)
No matter which awards are littered around, it's the challenge to collect them unscathed that sets Smash TV aside from other gun-toters.
Lost World (Walter Pooley)
It's not overly large, but it's got enough to keep you scratching your head for hours.
Street Fighter II (US Gold)
Too easy and too dull... The graphics are colourful and detailed, but so poorly thought out for the most part they just look a mess.
All-American Basketball (Zeppelin)
Almost identical to Zeppelin's International 5-A-Side Soccer in design and graphics, they obviously think they have a winning formula. They haven't - this is a deeply unentertaining bash at the sport.
American Tag Team Wrestling (Zeppelin)
On the plus side, there's no waggling involved; pity there's no game either!
Hero Quest (GBH Gold)
Despite its shortcomings, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this. Only Space Crusade does it better.
It's unique, untouchable enjoyment... what more can I say?
A regular shoot-'em-up... It's SWIV rotated through 90 degrees, with the jeep removed, and far less satisfying.
Magic Rufus (Alternative)
Tedious, tiresome, trumpet and brine. Miss it and you'll be highly delighted.
Pit-Fighter (The Hit Squad)
Smashing brainless heads soon grates... and un-challenging opponents bore.
Bangkok Knights/The Last Ninja (Again Again)
Two excellent games. The Last Ninja was good enough to spawn two excellent sequels! And Bangkok Nights, as a two-player game, is one of the best beat-'em-ups around.
Terminator 2 (The Hit Squad)
Beautiful intro and between-level shots but the game is hard and, well, not very good.
Spitfire '40/Strike Force Harrier (Again Again)
There are better flight sims on the C64 but Strike Force Harrier is a worthy purchase in its own right.
Emlyn Hughes International Soccer (Touchdown)
This is real football. It's probably the most realistic simulation of the sport on the C64, but it's not a game that will appeal to everyone.
RBI 2 (The Hit Squad)
An okay stab, but it wouldn't make the World Series due to serious weaknesses in key positions.
