Big Nose's American Adventure (Codemasters)
You already know what this will be like. Nice big sprites and diddeley-doo musak. You can also steer while you're in the air, so that makes things much easier.
Bubble Dizzy (Codemasters)
Relies tremendously on luck. The bubbles emerge at random, and the only way to rise on them is by jumping on a slow one or leaping into space and hoping for a last one to come up and catch you from behind.
Cartoon Collection (Codemasters)
A great compilation all in all; the only snag lying in the fact that all the games are a teensy weensy bit the same.
Cisco Heat (Mirrorsoft)
Cisco Heat sadly doesn't take racing games places they've never been. You'd be better off with Power Drift on budget.
Count And Add (Lander)
The sound is excellent, and the little celebratory jingle you get if you get all the answers in a section right is almost worth playing the games for. Reaction time, however, is very sluggish indeed.
Fun School 4 For 5-7 Year Olds (Europress)
Learning has never been so much fun.
Fun School 4 For The Under-5s (Europress)
Apart from the rubbish Teddy Paint, er, game, it's a brilliant disk with appealing characters, effective use of colour and spiffy sound fx.
G-LOC (US Gold)
What ho chaps! As fast as you like and as tough as they come. That's me. Oh, and G-LOC is very similar.
The Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Character Collection (Hi-Tec)
Insultingly poor. The graphics are uniformly excellent, but there's no attempt to be innovative and, for the most part, no content to the games.
International Speedway (Codemasters)
Take it for a spin only if you're a real speedway freak.
Jimmy's Super League (Beyond Belief)
Proof that management simulations are getting better.
The Mapper (Zenobi)
I'm not overly keen on the fact that it's played in real time, and that you also need to be accurate with the phrasing of certain commands at times.
Uppy, downy, acrossy, abouty game that's a tad lacking!
Paperboy 2 (Mindscape)
It's a groovy game, but it's more like Paperboy 1.3 than a real continuation. Try before you buy.
Picture Book (Triple R Education)
Picture Book is dead easy to use - a four year old could hack it which is lucky since that's who it's aimed! Should keep the nippers out of trouble for a while.
Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote (Hi-Tec)
A samey and disappointing collect-'em-up with extremely obscure graphics. I'm not asking for much, but I'd like to be able to tell the difference between a worm and a pile of birdseed!
3D Stock Cars II (Challenge)
3D Stock Cars II is awful; the control method's dodgy, the cars look more like space invaders and it gets terribly boring after ten minutes.
Strider 2 is disappointing, and Sly Spy knocks the overall rating down quite a bit. Only for those who don't have any of the games already, methinks.
One seriously high-quality platform game. Get it already!
