Adidas Championship Football (Ocean)
The best of the current batch of soccer games, and well worth considering.
The Battle Of The Bulge (Cases)
Okay, so it's nothing extremely exciting to some of us, but for those of you really into this sort of thing, it could be your lucky day.
Football Manager: World Cup Edition (Addictive Games)
For fans, the best thing since the last Footie Management game.
Gary Lineker's Superskills (Kixx)
Not an inspiring re-release.
Four really quite decent 'hero' games in one big box. Ever so slightly pricey, however.
Hong Kong Phooey (Hi-Tec)
Nothing brilliant as I've said, but certainly one worth 'checking out'.
Impossible Mission II (Kixx)
It looks a bit ropey graphically, but Impossible Mission II is a bit of a challenge for those with time to spare.
Jack The Nipper II (Kixx)
The graphics, as in the original Jack, are excellent and with more colour this time. Sound effects haven't been forgotten, either, as there are also lots of beepy tunes and things.
Macadam Bumper (Players)
Well the game itself isn't that thrilling, but designing your own courses and whatnot does liven things up a bit.
Match Day II (The Hit Squad)
As an all-rounder, Match Day II is unbeatable.
Mikie (The Hit Squad)
There's every reason to buy this, as it's tidily put together and really quite enjoyable.
Nemesis (The Hit Squad)
Very playable, apart from being a bit too difficult for its own good.
Night Hunter (Ubisoft)
A not-all-that-original arcade game given a new(ish) lease of life by a pointy pair of false teeth.
The Pendant Of Logryn (Zenobi)
New players might well love this game, as there's plenty to do... and if you find a problem stumping you in one direction, you can go off in several others and explore to your heart's content.
Prison Riot (Players Premier)
Looks suspiciously like Joe Blade (1, 2 and 3) doesn't it? Still, who cares?! Here's a complete and utter corker if ever I saw one.
Quattro Power (Codemasters)
It really is a neat little game, and with two players the feeling of competition becomes almost homicidal.
Ruff And Reddy (Hi-Tec)
This looks more like an excuse for a walk-about-and- solve-puzzles type game to me, and a not a particularly good one at that. Then again, it's not that bad either.
Shadow Warriors (Ocean)
Technically astounding beat-'em-up, full of colour and action... but doesn't need too much skill.
Shao-Lin's Road (The Hit Squad)
Hardly a spectacular little number, but quite neat at the price. All the levels I reached were more or less the same, and as far as moves go there are only one or two.
Skate Wars (Ubisoft)
Footie on ice, with a fair smattering of violence. Quite good(ish).
Sly Spy: Secret Agent (Ocean)
Clever James Bond parody capturing much of the series' feel, but disappointingly disjointed.
Snooker Manager (Image)
Snooker Manager isn't really all that good.
Superleague Soccer (Impressions)
A different type of footie game, but unfortunately it's crap.
The Vindicator (The Hit Squad)
Three okayish (on average) mini-games at a bargain price. You can't really argue with that.
