Overall, the game is reasonable but presents an overriding impression of deja-vu which squashes its appeal rather quickly. Read Review
The sound effects are nothing exciting, but adequate to convey the required events. Read Review
The game is not easily mastered and it will, at first, seem impossible to make some of the jumps, but that surely gives value for money. Read Review
The graphics are good if not outstanding, with some nice touches including flashing beacons and well animated explosions. Read Review
A great game that will keep you amused for hours... The graphics are first-rate. Read Review
Spaceman Sid is essentially the same game as Micro Power's Dune Rider but is played at a more leisurely pace... and there are fewer aerial aliens. I found Sid more pleasing graphically, and much more addictive. Read Review
Spaceman Sid stared out over the barren landscape, no enemy in sight. Bored, Sid's mind drifted back to the mission briefing and the C.O.'s desperate instructions...
"Sid... You are required to recapture our dilithium crystal mines necessary to Earth's defence systems. The mining operations on Tribos have been captured by the martian forces. You have been picked to take the new XRS laser-armed Combat Rover, to infiltrate the martian defences and to destroy the enemy command camps."
Suddenly, lights appeared from over the horizon, and his attention instantly fixed on the approaching Drone, his hand slammed on the Fire button, reducing the oncoming craft to a ball of flame and twisted, flying alloys.
"Drok..." gasps Sid. "That one nearly got me!"
But there is no more time for contemplation as an Enemy Scout Ship appeared in close pursuit of his now vapourised comrade.
