Keeping Oric Adventure Secrets

Q. A friend and I are trying to write an adventure game for the Oric. Can you tell us how to lock up a listing, or, preferably, how to prevent people from breaking into the program. We do not want to seize up the computer or cold-boot it if someone presses BREAK or CTRL-C.

A. There's no simple way to do what you want. Bob Maunder, in his book The Oric Handbook, gives some useful POKEs for making a program NEW itself or hang up the Oric when it's interrupted in a program. But, we have not been able to modify this information to make the Oric simply ignore BREAK or CTRL-C.
