The martians have landed! The routine of 19th century England has been shattered by huge martian fighting machines armed with a deadly heat ray and the semi-intelligent red weed takes hold, trapping its prey.

Your object in this graphical adventure, based on H. G. Wells' novel, is to visit the six special locations on the right day to reach the martian camp and complete the game. These are all featured in the correct order in the musical version of War Of The Worlds, and there are thirty other locations.

Your player is shown against a scrolling background of houses and fields as he wanders around London and the home counties. You must keep your strength up by eating the food and drinking the wine littered around.

Movement is by cursor keys and there are seven single-key commands. Response is slow, but tolerable.

The locations are geographically incorrect, which makes finding your way very difficult. Evading the death ray is usually easy but, as when you meet refugees, you end up in a different place. This makes finding the locations more reliant on luck than judgement.
