Streets Of Doom

A dark graphic adventure by Rafal Miazga. Includes bonus game Gangsta City.

Last night's events will remain in your memory forever. A burning skyscraper, beautiful girl, mysterious strangers, murder and black magic. If somebody told you about it, youd think they'd watched too many movies...

Now the skyscraper is gone. You are in the streets without any clear idea what to do next. But don't expect your life to be much easier. Midnight City in 2031 isn't a safe place... and you'll soon learn that you have made some very powerful enemies...

Instructions

Attention: This game is a direct sequel to an earlier Spectrum game, Skyscraper Of Doom. If you haven't already played the first part, we suggest you play that before this, so as to better understand the story. Skyscraper Of Doom is also available from Bumfun Software. However, don't worry, you can still enjoy playing Streets Of Doom without it, but you may have some troubles with understanding all of the story as some incidents do tie in directly to the previous game. Read the in-game introduction to find out more about the story and the task at hand.

To solve this case, you will need to walk around locations, collect and use items, operate devices, talk to people, etc. You can control your character either with a joystick or the keyboard. You can make your control selection at the main menu.

You can carry two items with you. One item will always be selected. When using an item, you will always use the selected item. The controls are as follows:

Left/Right ... Walk in the chosen direction
Left/Right Plus Up ... Jump in the chosen direction
Up ... Jump up
Down ... Change selected item

Fire can perform several different actions, depending on the current situation:

  • pick/drop items
  • use items
  • interact with environment
  • walk through doors and passages
  • advance dialogues

and others...

During gameplay, your game menu shows you:

  1. items being carried
  2. your energy
  3. your score, expressed as a percentage of completed game story

Hints

  1. To pick up items, stand in position with the edge of your left leg touching the left edge of the item
  2. Some actions require that you carry two items. In such cases, not only your chosen item but the second item you are carrying is important as well.
  3. You have only one life and there is no way to get your energy back, so be careful!
  4. Sometimes you don't need to use an item; you merely have to be carrying it for it to perform its function.

Good luck in solving the case, and keep your wits about you on the streets of doom!
